Welcher Spielejahrgang war besser: 2009 oder 1989? Nur die Veteranen sind zu einem solchen kühnen Jahresrückblick im Doppelpack fällig. Diesmal wird im Power-Play-Sonderheft "Die 100 besten Spiele 1989" geblättert, dank kultpower.de könnt Ihr auch digital darin rumstöbern.

In der Jahresend-Ausgabe resümieren Anatol, Boris, Heinrich, Jörg und Winnie einiges zu den letzten zwölf Monaten zusammen und erhalten ganz besonderen Besuch: Welcher "Weihnachtsmann" ist wohl Stargast in der Spiele-Talkrunde?

Bei der Gelegenheit ein herzliches Dankeschön an meine Mit-Veteranen für die schönen Plauderstunden und vor allem an die (erstaunlich vielen *g*) Hörer, die sich unsere Skype-Diskussionen freiwillig antun. Laßt Trantor bloß nicht den Weihnachtsbaum anzünden und rutscht gesund und sicher ins neue Jahr!

  • Wunderbar. Genau zum richtigen Zeitpunkt.

    Ich kann zwar keine 20 Jahre zurückblenden, aber zumindest 18. Heute vor genau 18 Jahren hat mir das liebe Christkind meinen ersten PC unter den Weihnachtsbaum gestellt, einen nahezu obszön schnellen 486DX mit 33 MHz! Der sehr sehr positive Testbericht eines gewissen Michael Hengst hat dafür gesorgt dass dieses nicht ganz einfache Teil mein erstes Spiel auf den 105MB Festplatte der Höllenmaschine war:

    Am nächsten Tag musste mein Onkel anrücken um es zum laufen zu bringen, da ich mit meiner Erfahrung vom Schneider Euro PC in der Schule natürlich keine Ahnung von EMS hatte (die Teile hatten 512kB RAM).

    Gestählt von diesem harten Brocken fielen mir die Spiele der nächsten Jahre leicht. Leider habe ich kein 5,25" Floppy mehr und das Genre der Flugsimulationen ist leider praktisch ausgestorben. (Die bösen Shooter haben es dahingerafft, pfui!)

    Ich hoffe ihr betreibt diesen wunderbaren Podcast weiter, langsam kommen die Hefte in die Zeit meines ersten NES.

Für mich sind die Podcasts ein Füllhorn an Informationen u. Unterhaltung, ausgeschenkt von einem 'verrückten' Haufen sympathischer Gamer :-)

  • Das mit der Lautstärke find ich auch sehr nervig. Etwa Mitte des Podcasts konnte ich auf einmal selbst mit voller Lautstärke nur noch schwer folgen.

  • Cool. Schöne Weihnachtsfolge und genialer Podcast überhaupt. Möchte mich allerdings der leisen Kritik bzgl. der Lautstärkeaussteuerung anschliessen - habe ca. in der Mitte des Podcasts praktisch nichts mehr im iPod gehört ohne arg angestrengt Worte zu erraten.

  • Lieber Heinrich,

    ich habe mir, unverschämter weise, letzte Woche einfach mal erlaubt, euren genial-unterhaltsamen Podcast auf YouTube zu supporten. Ausschnittsweise gibt es dort eure jeweilige Besprechung der 20 Jahre alten PowerPlay zum nachhören. (eine Art--ähmmm---Podcast-Video-Dingsbums XD - nichts besonderes, schließlich macht hier im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes der Ton die Musik). ;)

    Das ganze befindet sich in meinem channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/SarahKreuz31) - und wird all die Retro-Freunde hoffentlich dazu verleiten, hier mal vorbei zu schauen, um den vollen Podcast geniessen zu können.

    Bitte melde dich einfach mal per Email (oder Kommentar bei YouTube), falls du, oder deine anderen Veteranen-Kumpel, etwas dagegen haben sollten. Ich werde die Videos dann natürlich sofort wieder löschen.

    Ansonsten würde ich mir auch gerne zukünftig die mühe machen, das ganze zusammen zu schnibbeln und in YT rein zu setzen - Ich bin nur durch puren Zufall auf diesen Podcast aufmerksam geworden, durch eine verlinkung einer anderen Seite - und mir deswegen sicher, dass der eine oder andere auch durch YouTube mal hier herein "stolpert", und eure Folgen mit interesse verfolgen wird.

    danke für diese Folge.
    Richte bitte dem “Weihnachtsmann” gute Besserung aus. Sag ihm, dass er nicht der Einzige ist, dem das passiert.
    Bei meinem Motorrad war der Ständer nicht richtig ausgeklappt und ich hab mich auch hingelegt. Mein Mopped ist allerdings 100kg leichter als seines. Ich habe es aber noch geschafft mich abzurollen, sodass ich unverletzt blieb. Die Werkstatt wollte 700€ um den Schaden zu beheben. Ich habe es für 200€ selbst hinbekommen, sodass nochmal alles gut gegangen ist.
    Fazit: Ist zwar peinlich und ärgerlich, aber es passiert

    Das einzige, was Ihr noch besser machen könntet, wäre, dass Ihr euch bei der Moderation öfters abwechselt.
    Dann hätten z.B. auch Boris und Anatol mehr Redezeit und es wäre abwechslungsreicher.

  • Ich bin etwas überrascht, daß keiner der Veteranen "Demon's Souls" für die PS3 zu den Favoriten des Jahres 2009 gewählt hat. Vom Spielgefühl hat es mich oft an die guten alten Zeiten erinnert, gerade weil es mit seinem hohen aber fairen Schwierigkeitsgrad mal wieder eine echte Herausforderung war.

    Es ist eben kein Spiel, daß sich fast von selbst spielt wie so oft heutzutage – jeder Schritt kann tödlich sein und man muß taktisch und bewußt vorgehen, da man sonst noch nicht mal den ersten Level übersteht. Außerdem ist es atmosphärisch eine Wucht und hat einen innovativen Online-Modus. Bei Gamespot war's sogar Spiel des Jahres und konnte sich gegen Modern Warfare 2, Uncharted 2, Mario Wii etc. durchsetzen.

    Also wer's noch nicht kennt – mein absoluter Geheimtipp des Jahres!

    The tsunami warning was lifted in Hawaii on late Saturday after waves of about 1.5 meters were sighted, without any apparent damage. Beaches were briefly cleared of swimmers, and tourists were sent to upper floors of hotels. But nations further west left their alerts in place for much of Sunday, even after waves proved small, in case of additional tsunamis triggered by the huge Chilean temblor.

    Nations took the warning seriously in a region where raw memories remain of the deadly December 2004 tsunami in the neighboring Indian Ocean that killed nearly 230,000 people in 14 countries.

    Some of the biggest preparations were taken by Japan, where meteorological agency officials issued the nation’s first major tsunami warning in 17 years. They initially said they expected walls of water up to 3 meters, or 9 feet, high.

    In Tokyo, train lines and highways in densely populated areas along the edge of Tokyo Bay were stopped for hours. Further north, officials said they ordered the evacuation of some 570,000 households from coastal areas mostly on the main Japanese island of Honshu, a areas that has seen killer tsunamis in the past.

    Television news programs showed elderly residents in Iwate prefecture sitting on blankets in school gyms that had been turned into makeshift shelters. In the hilly port city of Hakodate, on the northernmost island of Hokkaido, residents sat on hilltops for hours on Sunday watching the sea.[/quote]

    I was watching on & off the MSNBC coverage and frankly not impressed with their 'scare' tactic coverage - based on scientific fact and investigation the after-effects would be obvious but hey what's with checking things first these days.... granted the potential for loss of life was there but could news channels act again like news channels - reporting the facts not paranoia & spreading fear.....plus I don't want to hear at the end of it all "Thank God he saved us"....if you believe that surely God caused it in the first place too...
